We all know Cardiff is an amazing city, now we have the award to go with it.

Cardiff has recently been voted the third best city centre in Europe by the residents of around 500 different cities. The Quality of Life European Cities Survey gathers opinions on the topics like:

  • Employment opportunities
  • Public transport
  • Education
  • Health
  • Cultural activities
  • Sports facilities
  • Shopping
  • House prices
  • Air quality
  • Public spaces
  • Safety
  • Green spaces
  • Cleanliness

Cardiff City Centre scored very highly on the following topics:

  • Job satisfaction = 90% satisfied
  • Shopping = 94% satisfied
  • Cultural activities = 91% satisfied
  • Neighbourhood = 89% satisfied

This award backs up what we already know about Cardiff, it is a great place to live for all ages, especially the young! With its many clubs for all types of people and nights out, Cardiff after dark is very much a European hot spot. If you are looking for a night to get all glammed up, Revolutions on a Tuesday is my personal favourite. With numerous rooms, different genres of music, I am sure you will agree that Revs is a great club to go to. If the idea of getting dressed up is not for you, and you love the old pop classics, Retros never fails to be a fun night out. Just be warned: the floor is always sticky so don’t wear your favourite trainers…

Cardiff may be a Capital City but, with everything in the City so close, that’s the last thing it will feel like. In the centre of Cardiff you can walk from museums, to shops, to restaurants and Clubs in less than ten minutes. One thing that is excellent about Cardiff’s wide food and drink scene is that there are always deals available. If you enjoy a cheap and amazing cocktails, or even some Latin American food, Las Iguanas always have deals. If you are looking for a discounted wine and dine, Voucher Code is a good place to look.

The cities that beat Cardiff City Centre are Oslo in Norway, which was voted first, and Belfast in Northern Ireland, coming in second place.

Cardiff City is by far my favourite place to live, there is always something going on, all in a small, safe city, I am almost surprised Cardiff wasn’t voted number one!

Keep exploring
